St James house damaged by fire

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING a fire of unknown origin which extensively damaged a house at 1st Avenue, Buccaneer Terrace, St James on Tuesday. 

The blaze broke out around 2:50 a.m. in the three-bedroom, one-bathroom wood and concrete home owned and occupied by 66-year-old  Henderson Maynard. 

Maynard was not at home when smoke was observed coming from the house.  

Two tenders and nine fire officers under the command of Station Officer Cadogan responded to the blaze and extinguished the fire.  

Anyone who can provide information to assist with these investigations is asked to contact the Holetown Police Station at 417-1700, police emergency number 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station.
