Salvation Army ‘pressing on’

Still in disbelief after a daylight robbery and theft of money from one of their kettles, the Salvation Army’s Divisional Commander for Barbados and St Lucia, Major Darrell Wilkinson said they will not be deterred from their work of helping the nation’s less fortunate or from attempting to meet this year’s kettle appeal target.

He told the Sunday Sun after the presentation of a $1 000 cheque from the management and staff of Massy Supermarket at Worthing where the incident occurred, that members had been urged to be more vigilant and not leave their kettles unmanned, no matter how brief.

The kettle and stand were removed after the member manning it stepped away briefly two Wednesdays ago. (SP)
