THE RICHARD HAYNES boardwalk is going to be extended all the way to St Lawrence Gap.

This has been revealed by chief executive officer of Baird & Associates, Kevin MacIntosh, who said the planned extension would make the popular South Coast spot twice as long as it now was.

MacIntosh was speaking as the Coastal Zone Management Unit hosted an environment lecture on the National Coastal Risk Information Planning Platform at the Environmental Protection Department on Friday.

The 1.2 kilometre long Richard Haynes Boardwalk was officially opened in 2009, and stretches from Rockley Beach to just west of Sierra Beach Apartments. (HLE)
