CCB: More foster parents needed

THE CHILD CARE BOARD (CCB) is appealing for more people to become foster parents.

Senior child care officer Colin St Hill said that too often relatives or close friends of young individuals shied away from fostering.

While acknowledging that the role carried a great level of burden and responsibility, he said it could be used as an alternative to placing children in homes.

St Hill estimated that there were just over 100 children living in the seven homes under the CCB, a number which he said fluctuated.  (TG)
