FORMER CHAMPION driver Rhett Watson and Jamaica’s Jeff Panton drove away with the major honours as drivers from 17 nations settled Flow King of the Hill yesterday.

At the wheel of a well-prepared Chefette/Power King Batteries/Gliptone/Stihl/Gunk/The Unknown Entity in support of Little Pink Gift BMW M3, Watson, with co-driver James Hutchinson alongside, turned in a near-flawless performance to take the top spot for two-wheel drive competitors with a time of 2 minutes 54.82 seconds and was seventh overall.

Panton and co-driver Mike Fennell Jr, driving the Rubis/Sandals Barbados/KIG Ford Focus WRC06, showed that his performance last year was no fluke, as he stamped his authority among the top-class drivers by returning the event’s fastest time of 2 minutes 46.45 seconds. (TT)
