OFFICIALS MUST BE WILLING to take a hard line against schoolchildren who act violently, even if it means holding the parents responsible as well.

This is the opinion of president of the National Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (NCPTA), Shone Gibbs, who was weighing in on the recent spate of violent acts by students, videos of which have been making the rounds on social media.

And parents of children at the school where a 14-year-old girl was attacked and beaten by a gang of older girls, want to find the reason behind the anger displayed in the videos.

President of the Lester Vaughan School Parent-Teacher Association, Donna Sealy, said yesterday that horrified parents felt solutions needed to be found immediately. (HLE)
