HOLETOWN BEACH IS under siege from a stream of effluent pouring from the nearby Holetown Public Centre.
Not only is the grey water presenting a health hazard for beachgoers who said they have seen sewage in the road, but its very presence is stifling a local restaurant as potential customers avoid its foul surroundings.
Frustrated manager for St James business Surf Side Restaurant, Michael Henry, told the DAILY NATION that for the last six months the foul-smelling flow had made business difficult as it blocked the entrance to the beach and the restaurant.
“The problem here is that there is sewage water coming from the police station and the post office complex,” Henry said as he pointed to a pool of the water. (AD)
