TWO JUNIORS scored remarkable victories as Team Rubis came from 3-1 down to defeat favourites Barbarees Guardians and capture the Village Camp Team Shotgun Tournament at the Deighton “Pa” Roach Tennis Centre on Saturday night.

Junior by name but definitely not by skills, Junior Wharton and Junior Alleyne thrilled the large crowd as Team Rubis tottered on the brink of defeat but survived to take the fifth edition of the tournament and a first prize of $5 000.

Alleyne may have captured the Most Valuable Player award for winning the tiebreaker against former No. 1 Sylvan “Lama” Barnett 21-17.

However, Wharton’s 21-19 victory over former Barbados champion Winston “Charles McEnroe” Griffith was pivotal.
