THE PITCH at Kensington Oval has been given a failing grade by the West Indies camp in the aftermath of their emphatic victory over Pakistan yesterday.

Captain Jason Holder, coach Stuart Law and fast bowler Shannon Gabriel joined the chorus of criticism of the surface produced for the second Brighto Paints G Mobile Cup Test, which the hosts won by 106 runs.

While Holder described variable bounce as unacceptable, Gabriel was even more forthright, labelling the strip as poor.

“I don’t think it is the best pitch for cricket, if I am being honest. It deteriorated too fast for a Test match wicket. I felt it should have been able to hold together for a lot longer. The invariable bounce is not acceptable at this level,” Holder said.
