HE SIMPLY never lost hope.
The poor run of scores never deterred middle order batsman Shai Hope, who always figured he would come good at the Test level by trusting in his abilities.
Hope made the comments just moments after scoring a defiant 90 – his first Test fifty – to put the Windies in a position to fight for a possible win against Pakistan on the final day of the Brighto Paints Presents The Q Mobile Cup Test at Kensington Oval.
“It’s just backing your ability. I know that I am good enough to play at this level so it’s just about staying patient and playing positively in the middle,” said the 23-year-old Bajan of his crucial innings. (JM)
