NEWS OUTLETS are reporting Whatsapp messaging service is down worldwide.
The problem started about four hours ago and has worsened.
The outage seems to be centred in Western Europe, the East Coast of the United States and South America.
Here in Barbados, there was also an outage, but service resumed around 6:30 p.m.
The #whatsappdown was trending on twitter, with the usual pithy comments and gifs.
