A day for the earth

IN RECOGNITION OF Earth Day yesterday, staff from the Elegant Group of Companies armed themselves with rakes and garbage bags and set out early to clean up some of the beaches on Barbados’ platinum coast.

From Brighton to Brandons to Batts Rock and then from Paynes Bay to Folkestone and Weston, even going as far as Mullins, in St Peter, the workers worked hard to rid the beaches of unwanted trash.

When they were finished, 200 bags of garbage had been removed from a 12-kilometre stretch of beach.
