MINISTER OF FINANCE Chris Sinckler’s last budget before general elections will be a hard one for him to gain political advantage through “economic goodies”, given the prevailing economic conditions.

Political scientist Peter Wickham said that Sinckler ran the risk of being regarded as “highly reckless” if “before the end of May” when the Budget is expected he attempted to offer up an “election budget”, which usually includes tax breaks and other giveaways.
