WAYLAND BAPTIST’S Barbadian duo Tre Hinds and Elizabeth Williams were among the honorees at the weekly outdoor track and field awards of the Sooner Athletic Conference in Texas.

Former CARIFTA athletes Hinds and Williams were recognised for their performances at the Ross Black Open hosted by New Mexico Junior College last Saturday in Hobbs.

It is the second consecutive award for Hinds and the first for Williams.

Hinds was named Male Track Athlete Of The Week after he competed in the 400 metres hurdles, an event he hadn’t competed in since leaving Queen’s College, a few years ago at the request of his coach Brian Whitlock.

Hinds clocked the NAIA’s fastest time of the season of 52.22 seconds. (EZS)
