‘Sacrifices’ to fix economic woes

BARBADIANS NEED TO look to their own resources inside the country for solutions to the country’s economic, social and financial woes.

That bit of advice from Bishop Peter Fenty, the Barbadian who is the top black clergyman in Canada’s Anglican Church. His comments were made against a backdrop of Good Friday and Easter observances, the holiest period on the global Christian calendar.

Bishop Fenty said the current economic situation required some tough decisions and there was no doubt the country had what was needed to return to a path of economic and social prosperity.

“I do believe that in Barbados we have, right there on the island, the persons and the resources to turn around the economy, to make some difficult decisions.
