THE PRICE OF flying fish and dolphin has gone back up, conveniently in time for the Easter weekend.
However, fisherfolk at the Bridgetown Fish Market said the rise had less to do with cashing in for Easter and was more about scarcity.
“Two weeks ago flying fish was $15 a pack of ten and now it is $18 a pack and dolphin is now $10 a pound. They expensive because the boats ain’t bringing in much. It’s all supply and demand,” said vendor Nicole Worrell.
Another vendor and former fisherman, Anthony Winston, empathised with buyers but said the prices were a necessary evil. (CA)
