TENSIONS ARE EXPECTED to be high at a special meeting between the National Conservation Commission (NCC) and more than 120 staff members today, convened to discuss terms and conditions of work, along with the appointment of scores of long-serving staff.
The meeting, scheduled for 1 p.m. at Almond Bay Caterers in Hastings, Christ Church, also comes on the heels of claims by employees that the NCC had hired new staff in 2017 who had not been part of the group sent home three years ago.
Yesterday, however, general manager Keith Neblett said there was absolutely no truth to the rumour that the NCC had hired 170 people who were not part of the group retrenched, as suggested in another section of the media. (BA)
