NO WORK. NO PAY.

That was the scathing comeback from Minister of Education Ronald Jones to the almost 200 teachers who are up in arms about his ministry’s plan to dock their pay after they participated in the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union’s (BSTU) March For Respect last Wednesday.

“I can’t allay or delay your salary, but if you work you should be paid. If you don’t work, I don’t see how you can be paid,” Jones said last night.

His comments come as teachers prepare to meet tomorrow to plan a response to the memo which ordered principals to record the names and times that teachers left for and returned from the march and submit it to the ministry. (HLE)
