PRIME MINISTER Freundel Stuart says his Government remains committed to the vision set out by the island’s “political ancestors”.

Stuart told visitors and Barbadians attending a reception at his Ilaro Court official residence on Wednesday night that he was committed to ensuring that Barbados remained “socially balanced, economically viable, environmentally sound” and is characterised by “good and transparent government”.

“When you say a Barbados that is socially balanced, you mean a Barbados in which people of all classes and races and creeds can find their place, whether as visitors or as locals who reside here,” he said.

At the final reception being hosted for repeat visitors during the 2016-2017 winter season, Stuart said visitors coming here felt comfortable because “it is generally understood that there is no room for discrimination on the basis of race, colour, creed or orientation”. (GC)
