IT WOULD SEEM these days that there is a career in stealing in Barbados. It runs from food crops, especially sweet potatoes and cassava, to diesel and gasoline.
It was reported in last SUNDAY SUN that thieves are filling their vehicle tanks at the pump at gas stations and speeding off without paying.
This cannot be right as we are taught in the scriptures, “Thou shall not steal.”
Then in Monday’s edition of the DAILY NATION it was stated that thieves had hit again at a cassava field in St George. When will this stealing stop?
Please do not put the blame on the economy or unemployment. That is an excuse for wrongdoing by those who just do not want to work in gainful employment.
Please tell me why someone would go to the petrol station knowing that they do not have the means to pay. I do believe that there are many people out there driving vehicles they cannot afford.
Petrol stations must now make the drivers pay before they are served. It can be done because we go to the fast food restaurants across the island and we have to pay before we are served.
