THE DIRT CHEAP natural gas prices some Barbadians are enjoying could soon be on the rise, and Minister of Commerce Donville Inniss says it is about time.
He said the current pricing structure was unsustainable and did not reflect the costs associated with delivering the commodity to homeowners.
Inniss said there had been no price adjustment to commercial customers in over ten years, while residential customers had not seen a price adjustment in over 20 years, which he insisted was not practical.
“It is only fair and reasonable and fitting that we make some necessary adjustment in prices if we are able to sustain the National Petroleum Corporation (NPC),” the minister noted. (LK)
