$10 PLEA

MINISTER OF SPORT Stephen Lashley wants each Barbadian to contribute $10 towards the redevelopment of the National Stadium.

While proposing a national fundraising initiative, the minister suggested a joint effort was needed in order to renovate the Waterford, St Michael facility. stephen-lashley

“We are planning to launch a national fundraising initiative because I believe even as the Government is to find funding, if every Barbadian contributes at least $10 to a national fundraising effort, we will be able to get in a vicinity of about $20 million to start this project,” he told the MIDWEEK NATION.

Lashley said the initiative was expected to be launched very shortly and would allow for the project to be carried out in segments. (RG)
