ONE OF THE ISLAND’s most vocal teachers has accused the Ministry of Education of declaring war on the profession.
In addition, Combermere’s Reverend Charles Morris suggested that all was still not well at the “broken down” Waterford, St Michael school.
Morris was one of the teachers who turned out for the second Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union’s (BSTU) town hall meeting at Ellerslie Secondary School on Saturday evening.
The meeting, under the chair of BSTU president Mary Redman and its first vice-president Erskine Padmore, was turned over to teachers to allow them to vent after the proposed discussion among parents, children, the public and teachers, about payment for correcting CXC’s School-Based Assessments (SBA), did not materialise because only teachers turned up.
