For Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, a good government in hand will always be better than three candidates in the political bush.
Mottley last night made it clear her Barbados Labour Party (BLP) Government was the best choice to lead the country in the face of extremely weak alternatives, while delivering an 18-month report card on its performance.
At the same time, she defended her heavy travelling schedule, the work of her large Cabinet, a decision to make the spouse of a minister the boss of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the time it had taken to get capital projects started, and Barbados’ ability to repair its international reputation.
During the one-hour-and-58-minute speech to party faithful at the BLP’s 81st annual general conference in Queen’s Park, The City, Mottley said that several projects would commence soon which would employ thousands of Barbadians. (BA)
