SOMETHING TO SUIT everyone’s taste was on the musical menu at Sunday’s Gala Evening of Mosaic IV . . . In Full Circle.
There was jazz by Rosemary Phillips, kaiso by Black Pawn, PJ, Kid Site, Adonijah, Poonka and William Smokey Burke, who also sang spouge and a few of his R hits from back in the day, and R from Two Mile Hill.
Add to that line-up a tribute to the late Adrian “Boo” Husbands, featuring Karl “Froggy” Smith on recorder and five students playing Boo’s Scratch Grain, and sweet steel pan playing by Harrison College’s junior and senior steel bands at intermission, and it all made for a good show at the Frank Collymore Hall.
Husbands was a member of the Mosaic organising committee as well as a volunteer teaching students to play the trombone. He died in January. (GBM)
