UWI students back Kothdiwala

A STUDENT LEADER has backed 13-year-old Khaleel Kothdiwala who created controversy appearing on a Barbados Labour Party platform.

Newly elected University of the West Indies (UWI) Guild of students president Kai Bridgewater (right) commended Kothdiwala for speaking out, but cautioned political parties against using young people for mileage.

“Well, I don’t believe in exploiting a young individual,” he said.

“My support for him is under the assumption that those were his genuine words, his thoughts and I don’t think that he should be restricted for having his own thoughts.  (TG)
