Bynoe’s Remedy

IF SUGGESTIONS ARE what Chris Sinckler wants, then Andrew Bynoe has quite a few.

And among the businessman’s main suggestions to the Minister of Finance is to stop taxing Barbadians and a recommendation on how to cut the wage bill in the public sector without sending people home.

Earlier this week, while leading off debate on the Appropriation Bill 2017, commonly referred to as the Estimates Debate, Sinckler had thrown out a challenge to his critics, calling for suggestions as to how Government could cut the fiscal deficit.

However, in a letter to the WEEKEND NATION, Bynoe, the owner of the Carlton and A1 and Emerald City supermarkets, said Government had failed to take the advice of competent people. (RB)
