NUPW facing internal battle

THE NATIONAL UNION of Public Workers’ (NUPW) election season is heating up as the incumbent executive faces an internal battle.

Come April 5, current president Akanni McDowall will face stiff competition from his deputy general treasurer Roy Greenidge for the post of president.

Minutes before the union’s 4 p.m. deadline yesterday, Greenidge and five others submitted their applications to the NUPW’s head office in Dalkeith, St Michael.

Under the banner of “Team Solidarity”, Greenidge explained that each of the six would have joined the team for their own reasons. (AD)
