Coaches’ stand

THE SMOOTH running of today’s semi-finals of the National Primary Schools’ Athletic Championships (NAPSAC) could be affected by some form of action.

That’s because disgruntled coaches at the National Sports Council (NSC) have had enough.

And though, it is not clear what type of action will be taken, sources close to the situation have told the MIDWEEK NATION that the coaches, who are responsible for the efficient running of the meet, were “fed-up over the blatant disrespect” meted out to them.

The National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) will be sending a clear message to the NSC over the non-appointment of six sessional and 13 temporary coaches within their ranks. (RA)
