THE NATIONAL Sports Council (NSC) believes partnerships with the private sector as well as the community are essential for the upkeep of its sporting facilities.
On Tuesday night, the NSC conducted a meeting at Speightstown to encourage sporting organisations and members of the community to play a part in the maintenance of the facilities.
“We have over the last two years been looking at how to manage the upkeep of our facilities and do so by [assistance from] both the private sector as well as the community,” said interim CEO Jerry Blenman.
“We would have held prior to this several other community meetings. One was held at the Maxwell Sports Club, the second in St George, the third was at Passage Road last week. [There’s] this one now and the final one [will be] at Brereton in St Philip [on Thursday],” he added. (RG)
