ONE CARIBBEAN MEDIA (OCM) has made another strategic acquisition.

OCM group chief executive officer Dawn Thomas recently announced that the regional group, which is based in Trinidad and Tobago, had received the green light from regulators permitting its purchase of a majority stake in Green Dot Limited.

“We are pleased to announce that One Caribbean Media Limited (OCM) has finalised the acquisition of a 51 per cent share in Green Dot Limited, having receiving the necessary regulatory approvals,” Thomas said.

“Green Dot Limited is a provider of digital cable TV and broadband Internet services. The company has been operating in the Trinidad market for over ten years and has been able to establish a strong customer base.”

The CEO said her organisation was “confident that this acquisition will not only support the group’s selective diversification strategy, but will contribute positively to OCM’s financial performance”.

“We welcome and look forward to working with the dynamic and innovative Green Dot team,” she added.

OCM was formed in January 2006 after two of the region’s most distinguished and long-standing media enterprises, the Caribbean Communications Network Group (Trinidad and Tobago) and the Nation Corporation Group (Barbados), merged. (SC)
