COME SEPTEMBER, parents should have another option for educating their children.
The African Heritage Foundation is seeking to launch its home-directed learning initiative, a service which would put parents into contact with tutors who would travel to their homes and teach their children.
Foundation president and founder Paul “Simba” Rock told the WEEKEND NATION they were currently in the process of interviewing tutors and were looking at beginning registration in June.
“We want to act as a go-between the Ministry of Education and some of the families having problems with their children at school. Already we are getting calls from parents who have what have been deemed as problem children. We want to work with the poor and marginalised people in the community,” he said, adding they were also looking at how to deal with CXC requirements and transcripts for college. (CA)
