AMIDST concerns over the price of tickets for the imminent series between West Indies and England, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has drastically cut the cost for early purchasers in one stand at Kensington Oval.
In an unprecedented move, tickets for next week Thursday’s final One-Day International in Barbados had been set at BDS$150 right across the ground, moving away from varying prices for the 3Ws Stand, Greenidge & Haynes Stand, Hall & Griffith Stand and Hewitt & Inniss Stand.
While not specifically addressing if it was in response to criticism about the high prices of tickets, the WICB announced yesterday it was offering special reductions for the matches at Kensington Oval and the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua.
At Kensington Oval, the first 1 000 tickets sold in the lower level of the Greenidge & Haynes Stand will cost BDS$75 – half the original price. (HG)
