A PICTURE IS SAID TO PAINT a thousand words, but the kind words used to describe late artist Fielding Babb well exceeded that count.
Tributes to the 81-year-old, whose real name was John Fielding Carter (below), poured in during a well-attended ceremony at the Chapel of Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens, Christ Church, yesterday morning. 
In attendance were officials from the National Cultural Foundation, including chief cultural officer Andrea Wells, Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley and a large contingent of Kiwanis.
The father of four gained popularity by transferring all things Bajan on to his canvas. He died on February 11 at a neighbour’s house near his Montrose, Christ Church home. Though he was retired, he continued to work in the arts by mentoring young artists. (TSG)
