Drums may beat again

THE DRUMS are back on the table.

The party type atmosphere that has been lacking from Barbados Secondary Schools Athletics Championships (BSSAC) may well return this year, as the organising committee is considering making a recommendation to bring back drums.

BSSAC assistant meet director Andrew Brathwaite hinted at the possibility during Thursday’s Press launch, but said the proposal had yet to be discussed.

“We do appreciate the drums bring a slightly different atmosphere to the meet. We saw last year the party type atmosphere that existed in spite of the drums where students found their own little things to make music with; so we do appreciate that,” said Brathwaite.
