HEALING HERBS: Finding true love and well-being

HAVE YOU EVER genuinely felt the emotion called love? Do you go on Facebook soliciting likes and love? Do you want me to assist you with this love thing?

Love is the most supreme emotion you can experience on this planet. When I was younger, I found myself in some situations that were very unloving.

Although they caused me to hurt, I was never trapped in bitterness, hate or envy. Instead, I got “high” by internally googling love. Like the smoker who craves a “high”, once you feel true love you always want to relive it.

Furthermore, love is what our souls want to feel. It is a feeling that touches our core and causes bright lights to beam. Are you beaming?  Equally, you will always try to produce experiences that cause love to erupt in the body.

Finding love is a process and my parents took me through the rites of passage to find it. This process was important because I was calling some wrong things, places and people love.

Of importance, the present mental state of some Barbadians requires committed practice to feel love. In crisis, I normally take deep breaths, release a puff, locate the internal love hub and this creates a celestial “high”.

Conversely, you must not trust everyone who gives you a rose, chocolates or teddy bear for the sake of love. Some of these people know you are clueless about the process of love and they can betray and hurt you.

As you find silent doctor love, beware of its health benefits. The webpage www.cbn.com shows that love lowers stress, anxiety and blood pressure, and can boost immune function. Concurring, womansday.com added: “When our love life is in order, our stress levels are lower,” says Genies Gerstner,
MD, a New York City-based dermatologist.

Further, Dr Braverman references a study from Rutgers University that found participants, when they looked at photos of people they deeply love, had an increase of dopamine brain activity, which is associated with optimism, energy and a sense of well-being.

Research on rediff.com reveals that love results in more activation in the part of the brain that keeps pain under control.

According to another clinical study, blister wounds healed nearly twice as fast in couples who were happy and calm compared to those who appeared hostile or depressed.

Finally, my search for love is your search. Let us go through the process and love unconditionally.
