Oldies Festival a tourism winner

SPORTS TOURISM is definitely the way forward.

This was declared by chairman of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., Alvin Jemmott, during the launch of the Golden Oldies Cricket Festival at Banks Breweries in Newton, Christ Church, yesterday.

“Two years ago, Ricky Clarke shared the details of what this festival could lead to, and immediately we knew it was something we wanted to be a part of,” he said.

“Sports tourism is a big part of our way forward and with this type of event, where tourism, I think, at the end of the day may very well be the winner.” (RA)
