Visitors’ passports confiscated

Three Trinidadian young women accused of assaulting a taxi driver and his mother had their passports confiscated as part of their bail when they appeared in the District “A” Magistrates Court yesterday.

Khayla James-Baptiste, 19, who was staying at Bayview Apartments, Deacons Road, St Michael; Renesha Denesia Duke, 22, and Ria Candace Gibbs, 23, both of whom were living at Mayers Road, My Lord’s Hill, St Michael, were jointly charged with and denied assaulting Shaquille Hunte, occasioning him actual body harm on September 16.

Gibbs was solely charged with assaulting Deborah Dowell, on the same date. All three women were listed as unemployed. (HLE)
