Easy for Pride

BARBADOS PRIDE and ICC Americas are in two different leagues and the gulf between the two sides is the equivalent of the distance between Bridgetown and Toronto.

Their WICB Regional Super50 fixture at the Windward Club ground yesterday was nothing more than a disappointing mismatch that ended in a comprehensive victory by 171 runs for the home team.

It was Barbados Pride’s fifth consecutive victory of the tournament en route to an easy passage to the semi-finals and also the fifth successive defeat for ICC Americas who will occupy an inevitable cellar place.

To their credit, ICC Americas, a development team made up of players from mainly United States, Canada and Bermuda, have displayed some improvement throughout the tournament but they were hammered by a Barbados Pride team that has now been installed as early favourites to win the title. (HG)
