ZIKO ROGERS of Red House was the star of the show, but Yellow House took the title yesterday at the St Stephen’s Primary School Inter-house Championships at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.
Yellow, with 523 points, dethroned Blue House, 481 points, forcing them to settle for third place.
Red House, who placed second with 484 points, put some pressure on Yellow after Rogers blazed the track to claim the victor ludorum title with 60 points, which came courtesy of wins in six events.
Competing in the Under-13 category, he won the 100 metres in 14.70 seconds, 200 metres in 29.81, 400 metres in 1 minute, 07.22 seconds, 800 metres in 2:43.00, long jump and cricket ball throw.
Blue collected the victrix ludorum title through Under-9 division champion Kenisha Straughn, who tallied 46 points.
The eight-year-old won the 80 metres in 13.15 seconds, 100 metres in 17.02 seconds, 150 metres in 26.14 seconds, and the long jump and placed third in the cricket ball throw.
In the Under-9 Boys’ category, Ijae Ward of Yellow collected 44 points and Under-11 Kadia Rock, also of Yellow, recorded 42 points.
