ROSALIE “MAMA” BAILEY marked her 100th birthday today in grand style.

Bailey, who is also the country’s oldest cancer survivor, was dressed in her Sunday best when Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave visited her Eagle Hall, St Michael home this morning.

The retired agricultural worker is full of wit and she engaged in a lively exchange with Sir Elliott, during which she told him “I too young fuh you!”

In addition to two of her children and a few grandchildren, Mama was also visited by her Parliamentary Representative Steve Blackett.

Pastor of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Vincent Wood, was also on hand to help mark the milestone.

There was a small party after Sir Elliott departed, but Bailey will be officially celebrated at a neighbourhood party on Saturday. (YB)
