Sponsors keep NAPSAC running

FEARS that the Pine Hill Dairy National Primary School’s Athletic Championships (NAPSAC) would be absent from the 2017 sporting calendar were dispelled when the event was launched at the West Terrace Primary School yesterday.

Last month there was some uncertainty surrounding the staging of the meet, which is the symbol of supremacy at the primary school level since organisers were short on finances to meet a $200 000 budget.

NAPSAC chairman Richmark Cave said those uncertainties were erased when they accumulated sufficient funds due to the support of sponsors.

“We were promised some cash injections from the Ministry of Education and I talked to the chief yesterday. $20 000 is coming for NAPSAC and we are going to get a sum of money from the National Sports Council (NSC) [$30 000] to get this championship going.” (RG)
