ONE OF BARBADOS’ top entertainers will not be performing in the semi-finals of the International Soca Monarch Competition in Trinidad.

Sweet Soca Monarch Edwin Yearwood is skipping the competition for the second consecutive year.

He and Party Monarch Lil Rick were automatic entrants into the Island Winners category for the February 5 show with Home Sweet Home and I’z A Bajan, respectively.

A brief statement from manager Ingrid Holder said Yearwood “has decided not to compete in the ISM Semi-Finals”.

Five other Barbadians received the nod from the judges.

They are Peter Ram (Good Morning), Marvay (Know The Face), Biggie Irie (Money Well Spent), Marzville (Bang Bim) and King Bubba (Calling In Sick). (PR/SAT)
