THE RUSH by Barbadians to get a police certificate of character should ease by next month.
Officer in charge of the department, Sergeant Carlos Lindo, said the office was busier during the last months of a year and the first two months of a new year.
“Right now all security officers will be coming in because their licence has to be renewed by January 31. Then the Child Care Board expects the day nurseries to be renewed by a certain time, so you will have an influx of people. By next month the numbers will be trickling in,” said Lindo.
He said that most employers required prospective employees to provide a recent police certificate of character and that, too, led to the increased numbers. (LK)
