Sinckler to quit if dollar devalued

NO NEED TO PANIC; the Barbados dollar will not be devalued.

This was the assurance from Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler, who was so confident about this that he vowed to resign if such ever occurred under his watch.

With growing concerns about the strength of the Barbados dollar, even more so after another recent downgrade, Sinckler gave the assurance last evening in the House of Assembly during debate of the Banks (Tax On Assets) Bill 2017.

Sinckler criticised Leader of the Opposition Mia Mottley and the Barbados Labour Party for what he deemed the “politics of panic”, which he charged was aimed at depressing Barbadians. (SDB Media)
