BARBADIAN SAILORS managed two wins yesterday on the first day of the Mount Gay Round Barbados Race Series.
Piloting a 2001 J105 in the Caribbean Sailing Association’s (CSA) racing category, Peter Lewis sailed home ahead of Great Britain’s Doug Innes, while Peter Steinkogler of Austria placed third.
Bryn Palmer, also of Barbados, won the Multihull category, sailing a 30ft 1985 RC 30. Coming in behind him was Ned Collier Wakefield of Great Britain in his GBR 12.
The United States won in the non-CSA category when Mark Hioens crossed the finishing line in a Hunter 35. (RG/PR)
