THE most decorated team in local volleyball, Flow Deacons, are running out of room to avoid the ignominy of failing to make the play-offs in the Goddard Enterprises Limited Senior Knockouts.

On Sunday night, Deacons lost their third game in a row in going down to defending champions Barbados Bearings/W. Gittens Landscaping Progressive 28-26, 20-25, 21-25, 25-20, 7-15 at the Oldbury courts in St Philip.

Deacons turned up with their biggest line-up for the knockouts but could not match the aggression and defence of Progressive’s Akeem Payne, Fabian Cox and the in-form Rico Brathwaite.

With the return of Kyle Browne and the experience of Elwyn Oxley, Deacons took a close first set and kept hope alive by snatching the fourth. (KB)
