Mia: Talk or call election

THE OPPOSITION BARBADOS Labour Party (BLP) yesterday threw down the gauntlet to Prime Minister Freundel Stuart, urging him to either speak out about the problems facing the country, or call a general election so Barbadians could decide in which direction they want the country to go.

“Once again, we are at the point where, with respect to the true state of the Barbados economy, we are intervening once again, in the hope of securing desired answers from the powers that be,” Opposition Leader Mia Mottley told a press conference at her office in Parliament Buildings.

“It is either we are told the true state of the problem and are permitted to input in finding a solution or the Government cut short the drift and inertia and return to the people for a mandate.”

She urged the Prime Minister to call an early election.(BA)
