JOEL GARNER appears to have new responsibilities – those of managing the National Stadium.

WEEKENDSPORT investigations have revealed the current West Indies cricket team manager has taken over as the Stadium superintendent in the wake of Colin Spencer’s resignation towards the end of last year.

Garner, the current president of the Barbados Cricket Association, has been a technical officer at the National Sports Council (NSC) for close to 20 years and his new responsibilities come at a time when the stands at the Stadium have been condemned.

When a WEEKENDSPORT team arrived at the National Stadium yesterday morning, Garner was observed pulling into the car park. When he alighted from his vehicle, he declined comment even before he was asked to confirm or deny his new post. (RA)
