GOVERNMENT and the private sector hit the road yesterday to fill a number of threatening potholes that have caused motorists major headache as they travel across Barbados.
The Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) and C.O. Williams Construction set out on a $1 million pothole patching programme, with MTW taking on Fairfield, Black Rock and Goodland, St Michael, and C.O. Williams concentrating on Sea View and Porters in St James.
Minister of Transport and Works Michael Lashley said other private companies – Rayside Construction ands Brathwaite’s Construction – were expected to come on board within the next two weeks.
He told the media while at Goodland that the pothole patching project would be complemented with a $4 million mill and pave programme. (LK)
